Robin Hamman of Headshift is chairing a 90 minute IBC Conference session on social media & broadcasting this Friday, in Room L of the RAI Centre. The session starts at 11.30am.
Robin will be joined by BBC Radio 4 journalist Chris Vallance and Yahoo Europe's VP of Search & Social Media, Jeff Revoy.
The panel will be moderated by Andy Davy, Controller of Portfolio Management, FM&T at the BBC.
The session will begin with a discussion about the different models broadcasters have previously used for audience engagement, scalability issues, and problems associated with spiralling moderation and technology costs. These include building online communities & asking audiences to submit content directly to website teams.
Chris's Radio 4 programme iPM is described as a "blog with a radio programme wrapped around it". He digs out stories and interacts with audiences on twitter, flickr, blogs and elsewhere online.
Jeff, as VP of Social Media at Yahoo Europe, is responsible for many of the social media services broadcasters such as Chris are starting to make use of.
