CNN.com (Technology) - Scientists at the University of Arizona have made a breakthrough in the development of erasable, re-writable holographic systems by developing the first updatable 3D display with memory.
The leader of the ten-strong team told CNN that they have so far succeeded with a single colour 3 inch x 4 inch display, but hope to have a computer-size screen in operation soon. Dr Nasser Peyghambarian is also confident about having a product on the market within 10 years, but other scientists are less certain a science project like this could reach the mass market that quickly.
