Computer World - A new blue-laser diode that's twice as fast as its current model has been announced by Sanyo.
The new system has the potential to burn four layer discs, with a capacity of 25GB per layer, in 10 minutes.
Don't get too excited though. It could take up to two years for the authorities governing the development to standardise the technology, allowing it to enter the mass market.
